HISTORY
The schooner 'Sunshine' is the third sister-ship to be built to the design (no.468) drawn up by
W. Fife III in 1900. The first two, the original 'Sunshine' and 'Asthore' were built (1900 and
1902) by the Fifes in their yard at Fairlie. The original 'Sunshine' was built for a local Scot
named Glen F. McAndrew of Largs Castle, which is close by the Fairlie yard. In 1906,
'Sunshine' was sold to the Portuguese Royal family, who continued in ownership until 1911.
The current 'Sunshine' began construction in late 1999, launched in 2003, and was official
handed over to the current owner in 2004, and then sailed to the Mediterranean, where she
has continued to reside ever since, taking part in all of the classic regattas for large yachts of
her type in the South of France and elsewhere.

ACCOMODATION
The interior of Sunshine is comfortable and attractive. Made of beautiful polished wood, the
rosewood panels are framed in teak with mostly leather upholstery.
Aft lies a cabin with single berthing for three with en suite head and shower.
Forward from the large salon, is a centerline passage with a double berth stateroom on
either side, each with its own ensuite head and shower.
Forward of the guest cabins are the crew quarters, with a twin cabin and four fo'c'sle berths,
plus a separate head and shower.
The salon is the full beam width, with an impressive dining area to starboard and a large
settee and coffee table to port (settees throughout the boat are upholstered in buffalo
leather). The navigation station is located just aft of the port side settee/lounge area, and is
adjacent to the main companionway leading to the doghouse and cockpit. Opposite the
navigation station on the starboard side is the fully-equipped galley with stove, double sinks,
fridge, freezer and microwave. A passageway is aft to the captain's cabin. Moving up the
companionway, the doghouse has settees on either side with large port-holes/windows with
full views to either side.
